We are now a month into school (holy cow, time is flying!!!) and that means that projects are in full swing. Considering it is my senior year, I am attempting to have this whole “time management” thing down and not procrastinate. With that being said, I thought I would share with you all my favorite study tricks to help myself stay focused!
My Go-to Study Tricks
Location: Hudson, OH, September 21st 2016
Look Details: Zara Blazer, Jeans (the softest!!), Pixel Glasses (c/o- use “Simplypoised” for $5 off), T shirt, Leatherology Bag (c/o)
First, I always try to study with a friend. I truly believe that it motivates me to work harder when I see someone else working as well. Plus, it helps knowing your friends are not out and about without you!
Secondly, I NEVER study on an empty stomach or it is all I think about. I love having snacks ready to go to get me through the day. Sometimes, I will even treat myself to a smoothie or cupcake if I make it through the day (sad, but very accurate).
Third, and one of the most important I think, is STUDY ANYWHERE BUT HOME. Get out! We love to find local cafes, juice bars, coffee shops, etc. that have a cozy environment with people working as well! Plus, it gets you out of the house and feeling productive already. I also have an incredible talent where I can literally fall asleep any time of the day within minutes. So, being home for me is just asking for a nap to occur.
With that being said, I also believe that how you are dressed with play a role into your day. Whenever I am in really comfy clothes (crewneck, t-shirt and leggings) I always just want to cuddle up at home with my roommates and watch friends. But, if I have on my comfy jeans and a soft tee, like this one, this one , this one or even this adorable one, I am more likely to stay motivated.
Next, do anything you can to stay off your phone! A lot of the times I will leave mine in the car, turn it off in my bag, or give it to my friend so I am not tempted to look at it.
One of the last study tricks I have is to invest in screen glasses like the ones I am wearing! I have raved about these glasses time and time again but I cannot tell you how much they have truly changed the game for me. Being a design major and blogger I ALWAYS got headaches from staring at screens too often. But I found these Pixel Glasses and they truly deflect all the blue light from your screens so that you are able to be headache free and sleep well! It takes a lot for me to love a product. However, I think headaches from blue light is a roaring issue in our generation!
If you use the code “SimplyPoised” you can get $5 off your glasses, plus they are doing a free shipping promo right now as well! As you all take on the school year and study away, let me know what tricks you use to help you better your study habits!
