When I think of spring and summer nights, I think of throwing on my favorite maxi dresses for the evening out. It always covers you up a little more so when the night breeze comes in, you are not too chilly. All while having that summer or spring dress style. When we went to Charleston, I knew I wanted to pack a few of my favorite maxi dresses to wear on our beach dinner nights.
Maxi Dresses for Spring and Summer
Fort Moultrie and Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, April 19th, 2017
As the waves crashed and the ocean breeze kicked in while we were at Sullivan’s Island, I was so glad I changed into a maxi dress. I grabbed this one from Rent the Runway and loved being able to wear it. Our trip was late in march so although it was plenty warm (hence the sunburn) the nights cooled down quickly.
Later that night we headed over to Fort Moultrie to watch the sunset, after having dinner at the Obstinate Daughter and wandering the shore at Sullivan’s Island. Someone told us the colors of the sunset were hard to beat here. Oh my goodness, were they right. It was breath taking- and there were dolphins! We saw them every time we went, and I am not talking about 1 or 2 dolphins, but 10+ frequently swimming around the whole night. It is something I will always remember dearly.
Casual maxi dresses like this button down one, this flawless creme one, and this one are perfect for days out. I love the dress options for a night out, whether it be a date night dress like this one and this one, or a more casual one like this one and this one.
Lastly, try pairing your maxi dress with your favorite pair of sandals on more casual nights, rather than wedges. You will be so surprised how comfortable it is and how much better you feel!
I am dying for another beach trip, but just got surprised with a trip to Florida with my best friend Bayli and her family in May. I am already so excited for a lot of sun and sand time.
