Leather/wool jacket- American Eagle, Shirt- American Eagle, Jeans- American Eagle, Shoes- Steve Madden
I really do hate the Texas Cold right now due to the fact that I thought I would be escaping the miserable Ohio temperatures for a while. However, it gives me a wonderful excuse to whip out this jacket. If you know me at all you know that I have an oddly weird obsession with pea coats/ winter coats. Although some may like to have one constant jacket to just throw on over their outfit, I enjoy finding unique ones that may appear to be statement pieces on their own. Everyone has that one store that when people ask you where something is from you sort of mumble it and change the conversation because it may not be taken as the most fashionable place, and one of my many is American Eagle. Despite the clichè shirts with American Eagle smacked on the front or the Cardigans with a huge Eagle logo inconveniently sewn to attract attention, this store has a plethora of quality clothes along with beautifully designed pieces. Their jeans, I can say, last years upon years. They are durable, not worn down easily and actually appear to be quite cute. Their winter coats, although they tend to be more pricy, are perfection. They actually keep you warm too! (They aren’t those fashionable “winter” coats that serve no purpose in the cold) Lastly, I found this shirt there and I have grown to love it. It is a simple piece that you can just throw on with jeans and boots when you’re running your many errands but still look like you didn’t just roll out of bed because of the lace to spice it up. Lastly these boots (which I may or may not have stole from my sister Sam) are hands down some of the greatest shoes I have seen. I love them because they aren’t the high combat boot look, but also aren’t right below your ankle. Best of all, they are a truly timeless asset to a wardrobe.
Alternate choices- Try the jacket with a simple dress, colored tights, and the boots. Try the shirt with an army green circle skirt or army green pants (as seen in yesterday’s blog) Don’t be afraid to throw on a gold statement necklace or a scarf.
