Every season I usually steer clear of most trends, knowing they will be out of style come the next season. However, there are always a few that I think will stick around for a little while. I like to think my style is mostly classic and feminine, and these two styles go hand in hand with each of those!
Fall Trends I Adore
Location: Hudson, Ohio, October 3rd 2016
Look Details: Pink Trench Coat (Also in Black and Beige), Asos Dress (sold out), Vintage Purse from Paris, Velvet Heels (UNDER 30!), Daniel Wellington Watch
The two fall trends this year that I am totally hopping on board with are velvet and trench coats. When I saw velvet on the runway in the spring for the upcoming fall/winter months I got so giddy inside.
I was rather nervous to see how the trend would play out, but I have been obsessing over everything I see. My roommates and I cannot look online without falling in love with a velvet piece.
There are so many pieces I love right now, but some of my favorites are this midi burnout velvet dress, these velvet embellished flats, this velvet tank that would look so cute under a leather jacket, these boots, this crushed velvet tunic, this velvet wrapped blouse, and I LOVE THESE VELVET SNEAKERS (I think I may have dreams about them). I linked even more of my favorites at the top/bottom of this post!
I last wore this dress in the summer here for a special date night out with Russ, while he was home for a couple of weeks. Luckily it was a cooler summer night, but I packed it away for fall/winter because it is such a heavy fabric.
The second style I am seeing everywhere is trench coats! Although they are sort of a classic go-to, I think people often associate them with business/older-adult style. However, I really think all ages can pull them off as long as you get the right fit and color. When I saw this pink one I knew I had to have it!
I also love the pink one in black and beige. Weirdly, I am all about rust this season, so I am all about this one as well. This one is the perfect casual jacket and is the SOFTEST material, I have two jackets by the brand and love them. Last but not least, this one and this one are the classic beige that you can never go wrong with!
As you shop for the season, be on the look out for pieces you know can transition into the next year. But, as you see the fall trends come out, do not be afraid to splurge on a piece or two you know you’ll love for those few months- we all do it!
