As fall comes around and the weather cools down, I always contemplate what to do on the weekends to get outside. I am still trying to figure out all of the fall activities, but I will share with you all the ones I love the most!
Location:Szalay’s Farm and Market, Peninsula, Ohio, October 4th 2016
I think this cardigan actually ranks in one of the top best quality ones I have. You can ask anyone I am close with- I am a cardigan addict. I love the idea of using them to transition summer pieces to fall, and fall to winter. I think the best kind are those that can be work in many seasons but still have a little character. With that being said, this cardigan, which I am contemplating buying in red and cream as well, is a BEAUTIFUL fabric, seriously! I had no idea it would be as soft and comfortable as it is. Plus, it is a deal!
Fall has become one of my favorite seasons here in Ohio. Between the crisp air, sweater weather, and fall foliage, it is truly stunning. Because of that, I always try to get out on the weekends, no matter the work or school activities I have, and enjoy the beauty.
Having friends to tag along with you always makes it better- my two roommates are mine (are they not the cutest?)!
The first fall activities I love in Apple picking. We recently went to Kuner’s Apple Orchard in this post and I am already trying to go back. It was so peaceful and calming to walk around the orchard for hours and just chat and pick apples with friends. Plus, the apple crumble we made that night with the apples we picked was DELISH!
Secondly, I love going to farmer’s markets/farms and enjoying all the typical fall activities you would think of like pumpkin picking, corn mazes, live music and scrumptious food, of course. Therefore, we headed to Szalay’s last weekend and soaked up all things fall! Plus, these sunflowers were 7 dollars total? WHAT! I always love gorgeous, cheap flowers. On top of that, we ate a fruit sundae and it was completely worth the drive just to indulge in that.
Thirdly, I love hiking. Especially in the fall when the outdoors are so beautiful and I do not sweat my booty off. It is a great workout and way to spend time outside! I pack some snacks and go! We have great national parks around here that my roommates know. Plus, any excuse to wear nikes and leggings, I will take.
Lastly, I love to bake. Especially up here, rain in the fall is a frequent occurrence. So, we take advantage of our in home time and make cookies, pumpkin pie, apple crumble, and more. Then, we still up a cup of hot cocoa, cuddle up and watch a movie.
I think this world gets a little too busy sometimes and we forget to soak up all the small things that make us happy. Especially being working adults or hard working students, we often lose track of time and quality moments with those we love. So, I challenge you to get outside, or stay inside and hangout with those you love while doing something you love. I am headed to Colorado in a few short days to spend some much needed quality time with Russ and I cannot wait!
