When I think of summer, I think of fruit. I think of the watermelon dripping all over my hands, the strawberries fresh in the fridge and most importantly the pineapple garnishing drinks. So, I wanted to the think of a fun way to tie fruit into summer party decor, while still making it chic. Spray painted pineapples are SO easy and something I never really thought of until lately. Although they will go bad, for a couple of summer nights, they make the best and cheapest summer party DIY decor. All you need is any spray paint and pineapples of course!
A Summer Party Decor DIY
McKinney, TX, July 11th, 2017
Supplies: Pineapples, Spray Paint, Piece of Cardboard/ Trashbag
When picking a color, I went to white, knowing it would match a bunch of different summer party themes. But, you could use a teal or pink paint, or even a sherbet orange or poppy red!
Once you pick pineapples, (the greener, the better- they will last longer), grab a piece of cardboard or a trash bag to spray on. Stand the pineapple up and spray it on all sides. Let it dry for about 15 minutes and then you are good to go! I do 2 layers to really make it all white but you could do a lighter layer if you choose.
Also, you could leave the top green for a palm look if that is the summer decor style you want! I have done it before and loved the results.
Be sure to dress up your party with your favorite tapestry, baskets and pillows! I love stacking baskets, filling some with flowers, some with a painted pineapple and some with the hidden ice chest to give it a fancier look! Happy Summer everyone- may your DIY dreams come true!
