Congrats! You made it through Monday. I did a poll last week on Instagram about a handful of different things, but one of the things everyone agreed on is how they like personal bloggers a lot better. So, I wanted to make an effort to share a little more about my life on Simply Poised so that we all feel a little closer. I have always hoped this will be a place of community. I love the thought of writing like we are sitting down in a cafe, just chatting. Therefore, I want to work harder to share things I would share with a sweet friend. With that being said, I thought of The Monday Moment, a series I will share every Monday with 6 random life updates (or more if life is extra exciting, perhaps).
The Monday Moment, Vol. 1
Santa Monica, CA, November 13th, 2017
This week’s updates:
I go home for a long Thanksgiving trip at the end of this week and I actually don’t think I could be more excited. Although I lived far from home for college too, living away from home post college hasn’t gotten any easier.
I have been working out for almost a month straight now and it feels SO good to be back in a routine. After living abroad and in NYC, I got really caught up in work and design school and didn’t make it a priority. But, now I’m back in action and it is super rewarding.
I can’t stop listening to Leslie Odom Jr.’s Christmas album…I have no shame. Between that and Michael Buble’s, I am set for the rest of my life.
We get snacks at work every day and I am obsessed with these Duke’s Chorizo and Lime Shorty Sausages. They’re way good.
We biked all the way to Hermosa Beach this weekend and back. It was around 35 miles and was really fun until we hit the Santa Monica Pier. We were pooped. But, WE MADE IT. I am so glad we did it! Seriously, I have a whole new level of respect for bicyclists.
I got a new devotional book that one of my best friend’s Kylah (one of my roommates from last year) showed me and I am loving it so far.
That’s all I can think of for this week. The Monday Moment Vol. 1 is in the books! I am about to go make some dinner, work on holiday gift guides (oops, the secret is out! They will be coming soon), and snuggle up on the couch.
